Norton Internet Security 2011 18.5.0.125

Reviewing 2011 18.1.0.37 (Sep 8, 2010)

Some GUI changes as usuall that are not attractive or user friendly and am sure the beta testers are going why did they not listen to me.

As a Firewall and a AV program it still sits in the top 3 and deserves to be there due to low false positives, immediate action on files (lol..cracks/key generators get toasted quick).

Program has continued from the 2010 version of being light on resources by scanning most used files so it does not rescan them unless there are changes and these files are your most commen programs and or the OS files so scans are shorter and less memory usage.

For idiots like rickbtx ranting or is it raving about above is a joke!
For other comments yes it does nag you to renew subscription a month before it expires and it does want you to buy from Symantec but if you work it right on your buying like I have then your expire date is near when other sources offer NIS on sale with 3 PC licenses for 1/2 the price (40bucks CDA) so give that a thought as to when to buy and you still get a year subscription and a automatic update to a newer version when it is available as per me as a week ago I was using 2010 and am no running 2011.

Tech support has a program to connect and try and fix any problems over the internet before you talk to someone and it usually fixes a problem.
For further problems tech support is there like any other program with good days and bad days in India.

There is NO slow down of internet browsing unless maybe you use IE......lol!
In which case I can see why due to all the security problems of that junk and being a uncompatable to web standards browser.

Lots of programs have a seperate uninstaller and it is good to get rid of remnants pf older Norton programs and or left overs for a cleaner install.
It solves possible registry problems.

I would suggest the poster has a Windows problem if it does not allow a Restore.

All programs have a toolbar these days or you can d/load one like Mcafee's or there are a few other AV companies that have a d/load also that check web sites and do google ratings of security for your searchs.

To the point; this program still rates a 5 as being in the top 3 AV/Firewall programs and if you are going to buy then buy this one as there is no learning curve needed and it works better than the other top 2.

Regards
